Make Government Accountable, Honest and Fair Minimize

In Baltimore County, many citizens believe that public officials are more concerned about advancing their own careers than they are about advancing the public good. The entrenched Democrat monopoly, corrupted by its unchecked power, no longer attempts to conceal its arrogance. Citizen involvement in important decisions is shunned or ignored, and elected Democrats who engage in questionable ethical conduct can count on their colleagues to turn a blind eye.

Baltimore County Republicans pledge to hold all elected officials, Democrats and Republicans alike, to a higher standard of accountability as they perform their duties.  Baltimore County Republicans pledge to increase access and will seek input from the citizens they serve.

Baltimore County Republicans support:
•    reform of the pension system for elected officials
•    a referendum on a charter charge to establish term limits for County Councilmembers
•    a fair redistricting process for County Council seats that respects community boundaries

Spend Your Tax Dollars Responsibly Minimize

Baltimore County Republicans realize that every dollar spent by government is a dollar taken out of the wallets and pocketbooks of its citizens. The entrenched Democrat monopoly willingly sends your tax dollars to Annapolis knowing that Baltimore County citizens pay far more to the State than the services that we receive back from the State. Much of the wealth we send to Annapolis is wasted on pet projects and well-intentioned programs that have failed repeatedly for decades.

Baltimore County Republicans pledge to promote fair tax reform that creates conditions that encourage job growth and will insure that our tax dollars are spent wisely to enhance our neighborhoods and communities.

Baltimore County Republicans support:
•    Property tax reform to end the practice of automatically increasing property taxes, especially when home values are falling.
•    A commercial property tax assessment cap, similar to the cap that homeowners enjoy, to encourage businesses to locate in the county and to expand the commercial tax base.
•    A five year moratorium on the personal property tax for businesses who relocate to or expand business in Baltimore County.

Put Communities First Minimize

Baltimore County Republicans know that the best government is the government that is closest and most accountable to the people. The entrenched Democrat monopoly that rules Baltimore County has forgotten that government exists to serve the people. Powerful interests that contribute to election campaigns receive special attention while core services like education, public safety, and infrastructure deteriorate.

Baltimore County Republicans pledge to put the interests of the community before the interests of the well-connected.

Baltimore County Republicans support:
•    Capital improvements to address our deteriorating, overcrowded schools, including a robust program to address the lack of air conditioniing in half the county's schools.
•    Putting police officers in school zones to curb aggressive driving and protect our kids from drug dealers, gang recruiters, and pedophiles.
•    Upgrading roads first, not building ice skating arenas and other pet projects.
